Child Safe Commitment Statement
At CCCB Southside Church, we are committed to creating a child safe church community where the safety, wellbeing, and rights of all children are respected, protected, and promoted.
We believe every child is created in the image of God and has the right to feel safe, be heard, and be treated with dignity, care, and respect. Guided by the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the Queensland Child Safe Standards, we actively work to ensure that children are supported and empowered across all areas of church life, including worship, ministries, programs, and pastoral care.
We are committed to providing inclusive, culturally safe, and welcoming environments for all children and young people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
CCCB Southside Church has zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, or harm. All concerns, allegations, or disclosures are taken seriously, responded to promptly, and reported in accordance with our legal, ethical, and faith‑based responsibilities.
Our pastors, leaders, employees, volunteers, and contractors share responsibility for keeping children safe. We support this commitment through:
- clear child safe and safe ministry policies and procedures
- regular training, awareness, and supervision
- safe recruitment and screening practices
- encouraging children and young people to speak up and ensuring they are listened to
